Wonderful news here at MJB Optical – July marks our 20th anniversary! We cannot thank the local community enough for where we are today, so we want to share some of the activities we held to celebrate reaching this milestone.
Our eye doctor
Dr Anita L. P. Brown-Dean was born here in Nassau, and after completing her education in The Bahamas she went on to graduate from the New England College of Optometry in Boston Massachusetts. She established MJB Optical, named after her father, in 2004. Anita has been providing top-quality services to the community for 20 years now.
Celebrating with the church
We recently held a celebratory service during Sunday Worship at the Church of God of Prophecy, Elizabeth Estates in Nassau. Dr Anita made a presentation and gave thanks to God for allowing her to be in private practice for 20 years. She said, “I think God is the reason why we are here today 20 years later. We will continue to be that hope, that beacon of light, that we continue to be ambassadors for the kingdom that in everything we do, we will give God honour and glory so that at the end of the day he can be praised.” A second church service will be hosted to thank our loyal patients who have been with us for the past 20 years.
New technology
Another way we are celebrating at your local eye doctor in Nassau is to unveil new technology and services we have invested in. An AI retinal camera enables us to better check the eye health of our patients, and thermal one-touch therapy will be used to relieve patients of dry eye symptoms. We also have a new mirror to assist with frame selection.
Giving back to the community
As an integral part of the community, we want to show our appreciation for years of support. We have run giveaways to celebrate our 20th anniversary in the form of 20 free retinal photos, 20 free dry eye treatments, and 20 vouchers for $20 to use in our online store.
